Tell us about yourself.
Hi! My name is Sebastian and I am originally from the Taunus Area in Germany. At the moment I am in the south of Germany. As often as possible, I explore the immediate surroundings there. Whether Schönbuch, Black Forest or the Swabian Alb - the main thing is to get out! I definitely have my dad's love for photography. But it took me some time to get used to the camera myself and I have been following the photo cosmos more seriously for two years now.
What does travelling mean to you?
I am of the opinion that "travel" is broad termn. Sure - distant countries are great. But for me, micro adventures in the local forests are at least as exciting.
Your favourite travel song?
I don't have a real favourite song. But I can recommend the album "Transatlanticism" by Death Cab for Cutie. Especially "We looked like giants" fascinates me again and again.
Your favourite place?
I can't really say. I actually feel at home everywhere. But if there's a place that ground me, it's the lighthouse in Nieuwpoort, Belgium. Away from the hustle and bustle of the promenade, it's a place you can really unwind.
Your dream destination?
I would love to travel to the Camargue in the south of France and see the wild horses. I think that would be a very special experience.
Your best travel experience?
In the end, I would say that long-distance hiking in itself gives me the most beautiful travel experiences. I especially liked the Harzer Hexenstieg. But also unknown long-distance hiking trails like the Hochrhöner trail inspired me. You lower your expectations, focus on the hike and let your thoughts wander.
What inspires you?
Looking through the old photos of my dad and of course the photos of my photography mates. Instagram and 500px is also a source of inspiration, as the range of creativity seems endless.
Your favourite natventure product?
For me it is the Yosemite in brown, because it has been with me for more than a year now and I don't want to miss it.
